Carrie Pfister Kirby graduated from Indiana State University in 1982 with a B.S. degree in Textiles and Clothing. After college she lived in Chicago and started a textile business where she designed, hand-dyed and silk-screen printed fabric yardage. Clients included talented Chicago clothing designer, Amy Rigg, who used her cotton and linen textiles in her clothing collections and artist and interior designer Marcia Weese who used fabric yardage for  home furnishings.

Carrie Pfister Kirby also created quilts with her textile designs and was included in a small group show with gallery owner Aron Packer. She also exhibited her repeated pattern, oil paintings later with the Aron Packer Gallery.

Chemical allergy issues eventually lead to designing and creating with the computer. She learned Adobe Illustrator and has used the medium in a number of ways. The work on this website ranges from repeated patterns to children’s book images to Christmas cards.

Carrie Pfister Kirby has been creating digital imagery for the past eight years. This website includes some of her digital work.

She hopes to delve deeper into digital animation, and continue a creative relationship with textiles.
